so you were involved with the development of the Andromeda Dave? Gotta say
that synth makes me freekin happy every time I turn it on - the keyboard is
fine - considerably better than most. I don't really understand the comments
on build qualty - maybe its not really a thing of beauty but apart from
those plastic cheeks its pretty darn well made, especially for the price...
the fact the PEK has the same keyboard is a selling point for me

The upshot is that I'm sold. I will have my PEK in a few days!
The downside is that I have to get rid of some sweet instruments at
this point. Rest assured though, my experience with the Rack the last
couple of weeks has convinced me this is going to be
more-than-worth-it!

Ah, so are you joining the 8-voice club??

Yup. I'm responsible for a bunch of features (Unison X and the blue light on the back are
my two faves), and I'm also the person responsible for the name.

I fully agree - that's why I suggested it to Dave. Solid and strong, yet smooth and fast. My
kind of good time... ;^)

I have had only keyboard that ever had this: It was a General Music S3
workstation. Its keyboard felt not bad but not good. The Poly AT was
great with my K2000 and E64 sampler that I had. I *wish* the PEK
responded to it.

Um, Tony....it does!!!! But not the keyboard itself- you have to have it controlled by a keyboard that transmits PolyAT.

I did not see that in the modulation sources area. I must have missed
it. Ill have to look for that later.

Tony, I searched for that in the mod matrix too for a while, but in vain.
It's simply aftertouch/pressure.
The Evolver reacts depending on the kind of aftertouch that is received.

You bet! ^_^
My decision to get the PEK was fueled by three things - my frustration of running out of voices, my frustration of the rack's UI and of course the *amazing* sound of the beastie!

Exactly- the PEK and Poly will respond to any pressure, either mono or poly- you don't have to specify.
