hmm.. yeah, shame about the BR864 not having MIDI in, and the motif not
putting clock through it's midi out..... between them, their shortcomings
are really annoying for what you want to do.

I guess midi merge is the only thing left to try?

Output problem.Desperate Q!!

2005-05-28 by Andrew McNaughton

Hi,
Wonder if someone can help me?
The right output on my Evolver has crapped out.I can’t get anything out of it.I have tried reloading the software update etc to no avail. Has anyone else had any related problems and/or solutions.
It happened on a gig so maybe the evolver got a power spike or something.

Are these units generally pretty robust or what?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Andrew

PART 2

As it turns out I can’t get the software to load properly either. The PIC file counts down and then stops at zero and locks without doing the binary thing.I’ve tried the MIDI file as well with the same result.I’m not the original owner so probably have no right to even contact DSI and ask them what to do.This is a pretty early serial number....00094....any issues with the earlier ones?
thanks for any any help.

Ask them and see - it sounds like it might be a hardware faliure - see what they say - Dave has an excellent reputation for supporting his products, and I’d be suprised if he didn’t at least respond.

Yeah, contact DSI. It's likely that at worst he'll treat it as being
past the warranty period (it probably is anyway). Small manufacturers
like DSI are usually very friendly, and DSI in particular is very
relaxed and nice about support (e.g. if a replaceable part needs
replacing they'll send you the part instead of requiring you to have a
tech do it).

Had the same problem, but with new Evolver. I asked Dave Smith for
possibilities of doing it by tweaking, and we came to a conclusion
that it is hardware and I should get another one from my dealer.

Could be there's some kind of design flaw. Anybody else has similar
experience?

My advice: try to have it replaced. There's nothing you can do to fix it.

Smiley
