evolver as sequencer

evolver as sequencer

2005-06-14 by niall munnelly

i thought i read somewhere that v2 of the evolver OS can
sequence other gear - at the very least, notes-on.

was this just a dream, like that movie about gary coleman
and gil gerard, living in a haunted house, that i was *sure*
was real?

It can... not a dream. :-)

From the V2.0.2 manual (p39):

   Additional Sequencer-Only Modulation Destinations:

   Display Destination
   -------------------
   cLO Sequencer clock (BPM) multiplier
   MnO MIDI note number
   VEL MIDI Velocity
   MMd MIDI Mod Wheel
   MPr MIDI Pressure
   Mbr MIDI Breath Controller
   MFt MIDI Foot Controller

[Of course the display codes look a bit weirder on the 7-segment display.]

I haven't used it for that (having a p3) but I'm pretty sure that you can
send notes/pitches - not sure how much else...

some evolver sequences

2005-06-14 by niall munnelly

i recorded this little demo track of sequences that i made on
the evolver, basically to show some friends how cool the
sequencer - indeed, this little box - can be. i figured i'd
share it here, as well.

they're basically just little scratch ideas, with no EQ or
anything like that, so - well, now that i'm done hemming and
hawing, here it is:

These are great! Thanks for sharing them. I'm working on the Evo
over lunch every day. I'm sure it will click and the sequences will
come pouring out.
