What is the Input and Output Hack?

What is the Input and Output Hack?

2005-07-20 by Paul

Hi - Im rather impatiently waiting for an Evolver coming back from
the
US in about 4 weeks. In the meantime, I have read almost everything
I
can find on it. One questions remains:

What is the Input and Output Hack? The manual says it 'trashes the
sound quite rudely' but what is it? Obviously not a distortion as
there is a separate distortion..

Thanks for any replies..

It changest the bit rate of the converters I believe. I don't know if
I'm totally on target, but it has something to do with that.

Its some kind of degredation in the output DACs. Seems to me to be bit
depth reduction more than down-sampling. Input Hack is the same thing
in reverse.

Its a really nasty nasty sound. Trashes up drum loops nicely!
