Noohh ! Midi CCs

I'm confused, am I missing something? I don't get - these CCs are preassigned?? - what use is that? I wanted just plain CCs which could be used as mod sources, so I can assign them myself to whatever I want. This is just for adding a few knobs right? boring ... I can't even use the extra CCs on my yamaha wx5 breath controller This implementation is urhh, adding nothing creative and, dare I say it ,undavelike!! Richard
