BCR-2000 - Evolver / again

BCR-2000 - Evolver / again

2005-08-20 by J Lesser

so i finally got one of those bcr2000s and im pretty happy with it.
Ive had 'limited' success with getting it to learn some of the sysex
using my pc-1600 to teach it (i'll keep you posted) but i have a
question, maybe just for mr trippler...

i cant get the bcr-2000 to reflect whats going on in the evolver, no
doubt i have a single switch set wrong.. lord knows between the
evolver and the bcr there are plenty of settings... anyway, ST - do
you have notes on how you configured both the boxes to make your
dancing lights demo?

... I have never seen anyone use a pc-1600 as effectively as you did at an LA-Smell show years ago... back in the days before Matmos became rock-stars. Mr.

now gs... i blush ;)

i went the route of the bcr2000 as my poor widdle pc1600 is kinda
sick... and i wanted to enter the 21st century.. with blinking lights
and all. well.. that would be a bummer if i couldnt get it to
reflect... it is definately seeing when i change stuff on the
evolver.. i think... ark!

anyway.. i must say, using the bcr in live is super sweet... when you
can open a file and see what all your settings are....

That's correct. Actually I exclusively painted rhythmic controller patterns
with the mouse in Cubase.

I have never seen anyone use a pc-1600 as effectively as you did at an
LA-Smell show years ago... back in the days before Matmos became rock-stars.
Mr. Lesser, you are a pc-1600 virtuoso!

I'm pretty sure that he just recorded fader sweeps as sysex in cubase, and
drew sine-waves by hand to each track, then played this back through the
bcr2000 so that it showed the CC parameters dancing. The evolver may be able
to send CC messages through the bcr, but I don't think you can dump all CC's
to the bcr to refect its current setup. Could be wrong.
