Evolver/PolyEvolver Sound Editor v. 3.2.0 update and tutorial news.

2005-12-29 by soundtower_helpdesk

Hi all

A quick note to let all Evolver/PolyEvolver SoundEditor users know
that SoundTower has the newest update (version 3.2.0) ready to go
late tomorrow. As always it is free.

The latest update is the result of our ongoing developement plan as
well as implementation of user suggestions; several of which came
directly from this site. We are pleased to have had the input; thank
you muchly.

LATEST UPDATES INCLUDE:

>New more flexible/powerful Librarian that allows for multiple drag
and drop of programs from Banks. (Multiple sounds can be selected
and moved enmass to a pre-selected category.)

>"Use loaded data" feature will allow the editor to send selected
programs to Evolver directly instead of switching Evolver's bank
programs. The Editor's loaded banks are not effected.

>"Auto Dump" feature allows for programs from Library to be
automatically sent to Evolver for instant auditioning.

>New single function Morph Genetics control. User can Morph two
programs smoothly from 0 to 100% and hear the result in real time.

For the update goto: http://www.soundtower.com/synth/evolver.htm

For new tutorial/screenshots on the improved Librarian funtions goto:
http://www.soundtower.com/evolver/update_320/librarian.htm

Thanks again and Happy New Year from the SoundTower Team.

I could be blind but, Your email says version 3.2.0 but I don't see any
links on your page to that version number for the update, perhaps you could
post the links to the actual update files ?

Thanks,
Don

Good question. I should have included that in the first note.

Answer: Yes, absolutely!

We are working on it now and will be ready for release next week.

Re: [Evolver] Evolver/PolyEvolver Sound Editor v3.2 PC update and other news

2005-12-30 by soundtower_helpdesk

Hi guys and gals,

As stated yesterday the latest version of the SoundTower
Evolver/PolyEvolver Sound Editor v.3.2.0 is officially complete as
of today.

The link to the full setup and exe update for PC is posted on site
for all at...

http://www.soundtower.com/evolver

As noted in the earlier post the newly expanded Librarian function
featuring multiple program drag and drop to and from User Banks as
well as a real time auditioning Morpher that incorporates the
Librarian to save and organize offspring are ready to go.

Also included in the update are the: "Use loaded data" feature that
will allow the editor to send selected programs to Evolver directly
instead of switching Evolver's bank programs. The Editor's loaded
banks are not effected.

"Auto Dump" feature which allows for programs from Library to be
automatically sent to Evolver for instant auditioning.

The newly expanded Librarian function featuring multiple program
drag and drop from and to User Banks as well as a real time
auditioning Morpher have their own tutorials that can be read in
HTML for now at:

http://www.soundtower.com/evolver/update_320/librarian.htm

and

http://www.soundtower.com/evolver/update_320/morpher.htm

respectively.

For those that have emailed me regarding the MAC update I am pleased
to announce that the SoundTower development team is scheduled to
have the MAC update ready for release on Jan. 6 2006.

Thanks all for your interest over this year.
Wishing you all a great New Year to come!

The SoundTower Team

2005-12-31 by Don Gothard

Downloaded the update and have been playing with the Morpher, This is a
great new feature you added Thanks!!! One thing that would really be great
is if you could add a controller value to the slider for the morphing
function so I could use the Mod Wheel or Pedal to do the Morph. Possible ???

Evolver/PolyEvolver Sound Editor v3.3 PC update with Beta

2006-01-02 by soundtower_helpdesk

Hi Don/all.

Well Don suggestion caused quite a bit of excitment in the
programming department.

To answer Don's question: yes it can be done. We did it plus we
added at Continuous Controller Mapper that allows for near complete
flexibility in which parameters, and how many, you send to a single
or multiple CC's!

It is in the Beta testing version right now only because it is such
a new idea. If you are a registered user of our editor and want to
play with the new funtions goto:

http://www.soundtower.com/evolver/beta

and upload the zipped exe for your version of the Evolver.

There is also included in the directory a quick and dirty tutorial
page to get you up and running.

An open offer for all of you that participate in using the Beta
version: We ask but a small consideration: that any interesting maps
you create that you feel has some musical merit be sent to us at
evolver@...

Please send a brief note describing what it is you have created in
the body of the email.

We will post some of these with the final version as templates for
the map function when all the testing is finished.

From the team at SoundTower, thank you and ... happy toggling!

Re: Evolver/PolyEvolver Sound Editor v3.3 PC update with Beta

2006-01-06 by bakunai2000

Hey Don ,

i was just about to email my feature suggestion on what you are
guys Beta testing now . concept is great ,imagination is your limit.
i have one question and one suggestions though . i tried to triger
all available controlls from from expression padal and mod wheel no
luck at all . i assume its a Beta bug ? what would be awsome
addition is to be able to tell each chosen detination ( i'm refering
to four desination slots )on how much they have to to be altered
from 0%-99% . i'll explain why , it will make perfect sence ,
especialy if as destination you choose pograme change controlled by
mod wheel or pedal , slight movement will result in uneffectively
rapid change which will be may be effective for some musical
situations and absolutely uninteresting for other musical scenes and
not only for programme change situatin but for other parameters too,
it would be very good addition . i have to say one thing though that
suggested feature would not be necessary if you want to do all the
manipulation from your external sequencer like Cubase etc , its all
easily can be done from there but for real time performance one can
create musically mindblowing scenes . i've been thinking about this
concept for long time .

regards
Art

Re: Evolver/PolyEvolver Sound Editor v3.3 PC update with Beta

2006-01-11 by soundtower_helpdesk

Thanks for the response Art,

I was going to respond earlier but had to take a bit of time to go
and check out the problem by example here. As far as I can figure
this should not be a beta issue. We have ours working. The question
that comes to mind is: what is you midi connection setup structured
like? Could you describe it for me?

Real time is where it is at for this feature.

cheers
Derek

Re: Evolver/PolyEvolver Sound Editor v3.3 PC update with Beta

2006-01-25 by soundtower_helpdesk

Hi bakunai20000

I haven't had the same problem come up and there have been no others
with the same issue. I have to think it is unique to your set up. I
was waiting for those jpegs but got busy and then got a cold so have
been doing some catch up of late.

Try again; try us again with an exact description; and a jpeg would
be great.

cheers
Derek
