Standard Evolver Presets

Standard Evolver Presets

2006-01-20 by hitjob311

To help me decide if I want to buy a PEK, I picked up a used Evolver,
and I had a couple of questions...

The presets on the Evolver (I am using the Factory 2.0 set)
all seem *really* wacky. There is almost none even close to standard
sound, alot of stuff that isnt even really a sound, more a white noise
burst...they vary in volume by a huge amount, and alot of them seem
like they are transposed either way to high or (mostly) way to low.

Now, when I played a PEK, it seemed much more focused on Bass, String,
Pad, whatever, but the normal Evolver is almost stuffed with unusable
FX type sounds, it seems a little odd for a mono-synth...

I mean, the Voyager for example, the preset (which I have overwrittedn
at this point) were mostly bread and butter, bass, lead, a couple FX,
whatever, but it seems really odd to have a synth whose presets are
all FX sounds.

Perhaps I am doing something wrong, as I new to the unit, but...just
thought I would ask.

My suggestion is to install the rack, or PEK presets if those are what sold you on the machine in the first place. I m pretty sure they re on the web-site.
