I recently received my PEK - a very nice and deep synth.

I would like to extract Gate and CV from the PEK sequencer to 'drive'
my analog sequencers.  I have connected MIDI out from the PEK into a
Kenton Pro Solo MIDI in and then into an analog sequencer or modular
oscillator, etc. I have set both the PEK and Pro Solo to MIDI channel 1.

I can drive, say, the oscillator or sequencer with CV (and Gate) when
I press the PEK keys (and the Kenton Pro Solo displays that the Gate
is being received via a small LED).  However, when I Start the PEK
sequencer, there is no response on the Pro Solo.  I have a really poor
understanding of MIDI (I've avoided it as much as possible), and I
could not find explicitly in the PEK manual how to set up the Global
MIDI parameters for MIDI out from the PEK sequencer.

Any suggestions? What am I missing?

you need to set the sequencer track to 'MIDI Note' and a second track to 
'MIDI velocity' (I believe).  I dont remember if you can send CCs from 
it.  I am not in front of my PEK, so I dont remember precisely what the 
destination is called.
