Evolver Desktop as "stompbox"

Evolver Desktop as "stompbox"

2006-08-23 by John Daly

Hi!

Just out of curiosity - has anyone hooked up an Evolver desktop to the fx
loop of a guitar tube amplifier, or used it as a unit running directly
into the instrument in of a tube head?

Cheers,

John

It says directly in the poly manual how to do so.

Re: Evolver Desktop as "stompbox"

Hi John,
I have changed/exchanged a few gears recently and this week i'm
trying/experimenting with new stuff and a new set.
First thing i'm going to try is plug my Evo in the Blues Deluxe.
It has an extra input for instruments. I also am going to run Evolver
thru a cheap tube preamp i purchased recently to try some real tube
overdrive. Still, i'm already quite happy with what the Evo can bring
in terms of distortion/overdrive/feedback without any external help.

I'll get back to you with the results if you want...

Simon

John and Simon
(you guys aren't part of DuranDuran are you...)

Just put down my new DEVO and guitar (came from Ebay last week and
just getting it settled into my set up). I ran straight from the DI out
in my Marshall single channel 50w combo into the DEVOs Left in. My
quick notes:

~ This has INCREDIBLE transistor/solid state distortion for guitar.
The thing creates audible *fire* if you can find interesting
destinations for the LFOs
~ Love playing w/ the resonance of the filter section
~ The Evo will quench my thirst for a MURF pedal for awhile
~ Tons of fun w/ the feedback, delays and hacks/dist.
~ Can't wait to pull out more spacey effects

So glad I got this thing. Great synth and a killer guitar weapon, as
quiet as it's kept!!!

I just got a poly-evolver rack and am trying to offset the cost by
selling my desktop mono.

It's been upgraded to 3.0 hardware and software. I'm looking for $350
shipped. It's pristine condition.

Email me if you have any questions.
