Dave Smith Instruments SYNTHESIZERS

Hi all

         i'm new here and about to buy an evolver.Can anyone say if 
the demo on dave smith site called Evolver Acoustic 
used a preset ? and how good the evolver is for marimba like ring mod 
style stuff with an acoustic like character ? This Evolver Acoustic 
demo mp3 quite literally sold me on the evolver

I can't say for sure (so why am I responding?), but I just took a walk
through my MED recently with my Akai EWI and it reminded me what a
strange bag the presets are.  Most synthesizer presets have a
reputation for being wimpy.  Not so the Evolver.  Evolver's presets
are wild and over-the-top so if you really want to use this thing
you'll need to know how to program it for the sounds you want to make.
