editor won't launch reliably

hello. if i launch the evolver editor after logging in it launches ok. if i launch any other software or quit and relaunch the editor, it wont launch again, just bounces in the dock then nothing, no error message. i have to log out and log back in to get it to work again i'm on os x 10.4.8 i posted this a while back, still no updates or info on this? james
