Poly Evolver rack, recording sequences from combo-mode, is that possible?

I have made some cool sequences in combo-mode, but can't figure out how to make the settings for the rack to respond correctly to my external sequencer. I want to trigger the sequencer (of the poly rack) so it plays of the tunes as when I start the sequencer manually on the rack..is that possible? I can use the keys of my Yamaha RS-7000 to play the sound/sequence of the PE, but this doesn't work equally like the played sequence in combo-mode. Does anyone have any tip on how to solve this? Thanks.
