Hey, I'm in the same boat as Swanoid. I've just downloaded Midiox and would love instructions on how to use it with the Evolver.
Thanks,

Well, step one is saving your Evolver data to the PC. For that,
you'll either need to install and use a PC MIDI Sequencer, or (much
faster and easier) get a copy of a free utility called MIDIox.
Assuming you go the MIDIox route, you can surf to
http://www.midiox.com/ to download a copy. Once you get it
downloaded and installed, holler back and I'll tell you how to use it
to save your Evolver patches/sequences data.

Once you get your data saved onto the PC, you can either email it to
me (ski @ ex5tech.com) or post it to the group in the "Files" section.

Thanks!

Hey, thanks! I'll be happy to put together a set of step by step
instructions. Should be able to get that done this evening. When
finished, I'm going to post it in the Evolver forum at EX5Tech (link
below in my "signature"), where it will be easier to find in the
future as a reference.

Any idea how many patches/sequences you might be able to churn out?
So far, it looks like we may have upwards of 100 by the time we're
finished - take a look in the forum post titled "Patch Contest / User
Forum Soundset".

Catch you later.

Thanks for helping us MIDI/PC neophytes out!
Not sure about how many patches. I've got to take time to sit and tweak. At least a few eventually. I've been working on one in particular, but don't generally have the equipment set up all of the time; and I'm busy playing in a couple of bands and working besides. Will do what I can.

All done. You can check out the little procedure in the forum thread
entitled "Using MIDI-OX to Save & Load Evolver Patches". Hope it
helps you get up and running. Don't forget to back up your work! ;)

Re: [Evolver] Re: Sequences Ready!

I've just uploaded my first patch to the Yahoo Patch folder. I've zipped it and included a short .doc file explaining the sequence and its location.
Thanks again for explaining how to save patches and do MIDI dumps to the PC, etc.
Best regards,
Craig
