"Born-again" owner with a daft question

"Born-again" owner with a daft question

2007-06-11 by Graeme

Hi group,
having returned to 'music making' after a few years adrift have only
just got around to ordering my V3 PIC chip for the desktop Evo.

As I no longer use computers for music (hardware all the way baby!!)
what is the easiest way to load the syx file to update the DSP ?

Have a copy of Sonar LE that came with a keyboard controller, presume
this will handle the operation - if so could anyone be so kind as to
indulge my s/w illitirassy and give me a few pointers as to how to
proceed.

many thanks,

Graeme

hi,

that one is the simplestc imho (and free).
http://www.bome.com/midi/sendsx/

about the update, just make sure you follow Dave's pdf exactly, as the
order of updating matters. (can't remember if it is pic first then
sysex, or the other way around)

cheers

mathieu

Hi,

I updated my desktop yesterday using midi-ox www.midiox.com/
Just had to change the buffer size as the sysex string is quite big ;-)

I hope this helps,

Ben.
