Updating "Definitive Guide"

Updating "Definitive Guide"

2007-06-22 by Anu Kirk

Now that I have a Poly Evolver Keyboard, I probably *should* update the
guide.

I'm also contemplating having some hardback/softback books made of the
guide - would anyone want to purchase one? I'll do it using Blurb.com.

Only checking because it's a not-insubstantial amount of work to
reformat the text and create the drawings...

I for one would welcome it-- just last week I was looking at your
sites to see if you had updated it. I would buy a printed copy for sure.

Hi there!
i would most certainly get one, even though I only have the poly-rack.
I plan to get the keyboard some day in the future, but think this
guide is very handy and an important guide to have, in getting to
know the programming of the synth. :-)

On the other hand, thanks for making it anyway! :-)

Cheers from an programming amateur...

Yes, that would be great, as your guide really simplifies how to use evolver. To see an updated guide covering the pek would be of benefit to all pek users. Put me in for a copy!

sending program change from Machine Drum

2007-06-27 by Luke Sanger

So I'm trying out using the MD as my main sequencer and it's playing
my Evolver and my Voyager like a dream..

Only thing is I can't work out how to send program change messages to
these, I assume it's specific to the device your trying to control..
Does the Evolver only accept sysex for this or can the MD even send
sysex?

Bit confused....

If anyone has a similar setup or can help I most appreciate it!

Cheers!

Yes, the Definitive Guide has been incredibly helpful, an updated one
for the PEK would be great!

It might be useful to Mr. Kirk if we started a list of questions we all have about the PEK ? You know... not every question, just 2 or 3 dozen per person !

Can I use the Evolver Desktop without a keyboard?

2007-07-12 by Iain Bryden

My special order Evolver desktop just arrived at my local Guitar Center.
I'm leaving for vacation tonight and wondering if I should pick it up
before I leave and take it with me. I can bring along the cables to hook
the outs up to headphones but can't bring my 88 key, 70 lb. controller.

I ask because of this, quoted from the manual:
"Evolver is quite often used without a keyboard, just using the internal
sequencer. Other times, it is used solely from a keyboard."

Hi,

Now that I have the Evolver in my possession I know the answer to this
question - a question I posted a couple of weeks ago. :-)

2007-07-23 by John Wieczorek

Yes - you can have a *lot* of fun w/ those 4 sequencer tracks,
start, reset & shift buttons.

I use mine more as stand-alone noise box/processors than as keyboard
modules.
Lately I've been messing around with using external audio peaks to
step through the sequence.

Big fun with a mic and a hand drum.

peace,
