Just like the manual says, "Evolver is quite often used without a keyboard, just using the internal sequencer".

It would probably be a good excuse for you to get familiarized with the sequencer.

My special order Evolver desktop just arrived at my local Guitar Center. I'm leaving for vacation tonight and wondering if I should pick it up before I leave and take it with me. I can bring along the cables to hook the outs up to headphones but can't bring my 88 key, 70 lb. controller.

I ask because of this, quoted from the manual:
"Evolver is quite often used without a keyboard, just using the internal sequencer. Other times, it is used solely from a keyboard."

Yep, I'd pay for a hard copy.

Vysor Editor Sys Ex Error

2007-07-23 by Joe McGinty

Hi,

Is anyone else having this problem? When loading patches in from the
PEK, I get the "Sysx data is missing bytes" error. I'm using the Tascam
FW-1884 as my MIDI interface. I've also tried the Digi 002Rack MIDI and
I get the same problem. Is anyone else using this setup? I'm using a Mac
G5 Dual 1.5gHz with 4G RAM. It's annoying that I'll have to pick up
another piece of hardware that I don't need, not to mention the fact
that I'll probably need to buy a USB hub.

Which interfaces work best with the Evolver editor? Really, the MIDI on
the FW-1884 and the 002R serve my needs just fine, so if anyone has
figured out a way to make it work, let me know. And, BTW, both of the
recommended interfaces in the FAQ section of the Vysor Evolver group are
out of production.

thanks,

Joe

my motu midi interface works perfectly (I think it's a midi express
128?? - 1u rack with 8 midi ins and outs, connects to my computer via
USB)

by the way - how are you using the MIDI on your digi 002? do you have a
chain with other stuff in it? if so, what are you doing in terms of port
access for vyzor, vs your sequencer?

vyzor inside a sequencer really works its best when you have a MIDI port
dedicated just to the evolver, and then load vyzor in the sequencer as a
VSTi.
