How to control Evolver's (desktop) parameters from a sequencer?

2008-01-17 by Nico Grubert

Hi there,

I use the Evolver desktop and play it from my sequencer "FLStudio". Since I cannot tweak multiple parameters of the evolver at the same time (e.g. cutoff and LFO 1 depth) due to evolver's limited knobs and the matrix I want to control the parameters from my sequencer.

I wanna have total recall so I want everything in my sequencer (also the controller moves for multiple evolver parameters).
But how can I control evolvers parameter from a sequencer that does not understand sysex?
Most of the synthesizers I have had in the past years understand standard MIDI controller value from 1 to 127 (cutoff is often used with controller #74).
So, any idea, what I could do? I have ordered Cubase 4 so maybe it's possible to control evolver's parameter with Cubase!?

Regards
Nico

what os do you have in your evolver? in os-3 all parameters can be controlled with CC# so no need for sysex, if you dont have it, i recomend you update it.
