Transmitting MIDI CC messages with MEK?

Hi, Is it possible to use the knobs on the mono evolver keyboard to transmit MIDI CC messages? I want a MIDI controller but I resent having to fork out on one of those horrible flimsy plastic controllers that novation/korg make. The MEK is beautifully made and has a great keybed. At the moment, the knobs seem to transmit Sysex messages, which I can't control plugins with in Logic. Has anyone managed this?
