Mopho - MPC1000 Sync Issues

Mopho - MPC1000 Sync Issues

2012-08-29 by johnhaugarth

I think this should work, however the Mopho goes crazy when I use Midi Thru.

Here's my setup: MPC 1000 Midi Out ----> MOPHO Midi In ------> Mopho Midi Thru -----> Micron Midi In ------> Micron Midi Thru -----> Machindrum Midi In ---------> Machinedrum Midi thru ------> Evolver Midi In -------> Evolver Midi thru ----> MPC 1000 Midi In.

For some reason this makes the Mopho go wild, changing programs and hitting more Midi notes then the MPC 1000 JJOSXL2 locks up so I cannot do a Midi handshake on two different synths

If my setup is as such:
MPC 1000 MIdi Out A----> Mopho Midi In
Mpc 1000 Midi Out B -----> Micron Midi In ------> Micron Midi Thru -----> Machindrum Midi In ---------> Machinedrum Midi Out ------> Evolver Midi In

then everything goes just fine. There is no crazy program switching on the Mopho. Anyone else experience something like this before?

You're creating a MIDI Loop by running the Evo MIDI Thru back into the MPC.

That's generally not a good idea =o]

The point of my setup is to be able to make a Midi handshake for two synths - the Micron and Mopho so I can record the Midi parts without connecting and reconnecting Midi cables.

I have one more question regarding this type of setup: I would like to do a Midi handshake with the Evolver (Desktop Version without keyboard). How can I do a Midi handshake like this with one of my keyboards?

So is there any possible way to make a Midi handshake with two synths while still having all of my synths plugged in? For those not aware of the MPC 1000 - it has two midi ins and two midi outs.
