Quiet here

Quiet here

2003-03-29 by trippler@t-online.de

Not so much traffic on the list at the moment, therefor I'll post an example
of my slowly growing Evolver sound programming skills ;-)

One dump question: Is there a way to center an oscillator in the stereo
panorama without choos\ufffdng mono out ?

Regards
Stefan

nope. Osc 1 & 3 are hardwired to the left-hand-path, 2
& 4 to the right.

PC1600 patches

2003-03-29 by Neil Goldstein

I downloaded and installed the Evolver PC1600x patches from Dave Smith's
site into my PC1600. It locked up my PC1600, I guess because it is not
an "x". I used MidiOX on my PC. I was able to transfer a few of the
banks in Sounddiver Mac. So I re-initialized the PC1600 and uploaded the
patches back. Very powerful tool indeed! I was just using 5 or so of the
12-14 banks and would really like to get the complete set.

Anyways is there any way someone can get all the banks in a SoundDiver
library format, using the PC1600 adaptation? I think Mac or PC would
work, though I'm working on a Mac. Would greatly appreciate it.

Stefan - If you want to center a SINGLE oscillator in the stereo
field, while leaving other oscillators panned left and right, then
the technically correct answer to your question is no.

On the other hand, if you're OK with centering ALL oscillators in the
stereo field, then the answer is yes. Simply use the "Output Pan"
parameter (detailed under the "Amplifier (VCA)" section in the manual.

Another option... If you want a single sound centered in the stereo
field, with other sounds panned left and right, try this: Program
Osc 1 and 2 (or Osc 3 and 4) to be identical. While they won't be
*perfectly* identical, since we're talking about analog oscillators
and filters, they will be close enough to simulate a single centered
sound. You're remaining two oscillators can be programmed to sound
different from each other, and will continue to sound panned left and
right. I've done this quite a bit, often using two oscillators for
a "centered" bass line in a sequence, while the other two oscillators
play other parts.

Peter

Thanks for the file. Could you explain how I get these patches in the

ok..you have to use OMS and make a oms objekt of your
pc1600x.
then you import sysexfiles to the app sysex470 and
export them to your pc1600x...its really easy and can
only be done one way.
i will try it tonight and tell you how it went and you
do the same right:)
