DTX2S monitoring

2004-09-06 by temp1111

Hello list, more questions before investing more dollars.
I currently run 3 outputs from my DTX2S, as follows... snare to Ind Output 1 to mixer, kick to Ind Output 2 to mixer and all toms to L/mono to mixer. Obviously, the idea is to send soundguy 3 signals so he has control at the main board.
Now, he sends a full mix signal through 4 floor monitors across the stage front but its not enough for me to really feel the drums, as I would if acoustic, so I am considering adding a PM-3 personal monitor system at the kit.
My question or problem is that there doesn't appear to be a specific monitor Out port on the DTX2S. For a minute I figured I could run out of the headphone jack but the manual states that the headphone jack will not carry the signals from Ind Outputs, which of course doesn't help much.
Then I figured, based on the drawing on page 17 of the manual, that I can use the digital Output port. The drawing shows 4 Ind Outs to the mixer, and the Digital Out to a recorder. That leads me to believe that the Digital Out sends all the output. However, there is a confusing line in the 4th paragraph below the drawing, that states, in part:
"The DIGITAL OUTPUT terminal allows you to output the stereo signal...The stereo output from the Digital Output jack is identical to that output from the OUTPUT jacks."
Is it identical to that from ALL the output jacks or just the stereo jacks, if its just the stereo jacks, they need to fix the drawing. ; Also, they need to seriously look at a monitor jack if there is, indeed no way to plug a monitor in that will hear all output.
Can anyone elaborate on if I am missing something here, or if there is a way to pull this off, that is, monitor all output direct from the DTX2S.
Thx in advance.
