The Visu-Lite ride I own was purchased after Pintech bought out Visu-Lite. The cymbal you have sounds like it was built before this using a piezo/piezo setup(one for the bell, one for the bow). I don't think that will work with choke on a roland or yamaha module simply because the trigger setup on those modules is piezo/membrane, meaning the bow is a piezo trigger, and the bell(or edge) is a membrane switch (on/off). My ride was made with a membrane bell instead of a piezo bell, that is how the new ones are made by default, those will work with a Roland or Yamaha module and will have the choke ability on the bell. emf <liberatusvirus@...> wrote: --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, Anthony Robinson <a1c_drummergeek@y...> wrote: > no, the bell can be used for choking (and if the felts are tightened down to much will do it automatically), however, it is a working trigger installed on the bell, if you go to www.nscomp.com/drumpics and look at the VC pics you can see my VL cymbals and will see how the bell is set up. :) Very nice. You'll have to explain it to me. I can't trace the wiring to the TD-8 very well. My Visu-lite ride has a double lead from the cymbal, allowing separate feeds to independent inputs for bow and bell w/o choking. Are you saying that your bell will choke the cymbal by accident, or by design, via a single stereo cable to the Roland module? In other words, did Tom Picard sell the ride to you with the understanding that it would work that way, or did you stumble on it? Maybe this is a feature of the TD-8 and 10 modules that Yamahas don't duplicate, or I'm reading you wrong.
