Hi, No soundproofing advice here but I can relate. It's the click-clacking of all the drums, and not just the kick, that bug my family. My wife likens if to sounding like "a loud party in the apartment upstairs but I can't quite make out the music". I've semi-solved this problem in my house by playing music out loud that my wife and daughter like. This doesn't always mean that I'm playing exactly what I want, but at least I'm playing. A quick, but expensive, solution would be to just get a mesh head kick like the Pintech ConcertKik ST (about US$180.00), and isolate the pedal itself with absorbant rubber. If it's just the kick that's bugging the wife, she may not complain about the extra expenditure, and you get an upgrade in the deal! Maybe not much help, but at least you know there are others out there dealing with this, Rick -----Original Message----- From: Andy Coe <brat@...> To: DTXpress@yahoogroups.com <DTXpress@yahoogroups.com> Date: Sunday, May 13, 2001 2:51 AM Subject: [DTXpress] Upsetting the wife!! >has anyone successfully managed to soundproof their kick pedal so >that other members of the household can watch telly in peace? i have >experimented with several layers of carpets and other cusioning but i >still get complaints from 'er downstairs' - note that i have >headphones on. >i find that my house shakes - or is it that i am just overzealous >with my kicks? i have had to move the kit to a mates while i consider >my next plan of attack. >yours hopeingly > > >Community email addresses: > Post message: DTXpress@onelist.com > Subscribe: DTXpress-subscribe@onelist.com > Unsubscribe: DTXpress-unsubscribe@onelist.com > List owner: DTXpress-owner@onelist.com > >Shortcut URL to this page: > http://www.onelist.com/community/DTXpress > >Your use of Yahoo!
