Re: [DTXpress] Metal Kit

2004-11-18 by Brett Andrighetti

I'm a metal drummer, and have been for the 16 years. I'm constantly on the search for the perfect metal sound for my drums, and just when I think I've found something, I start to doubt the sound. Currently, I'm using the K/008 BD GMH, tuned to about -3. It's got a nice raw crunch sound to it, that somewhat reminds me of Korn. As for toms, I use T/006 DRY GM5, and tune each drum down from 0. I currently have two DTX2's combined together, so my tom range needs to go from much higher to lower, being a total of 6 toms, 4 tom-toms, 2 floor toms. Now as far as cymbals go, I'm always looking for a better sound than what I currently have. Anyone have any ideas?

Subject: [DTXpress] Metal Kit

Hi,

I just bought me a double bass pedal. I'm now looking for a kit on my
dtxpress 2 to play Heavy Metal and Hardrock. Let's say something that
sounds like Megadeth or Metallica. Anybody out there that plays metal?
Anybody that has got a real heavy sounding sysex kit file or something
like that?

thnx in advance

Tom
