Yes. Think of this as an entry level kit, set at a price point lower than Rolands TD-3K by $50US. Just a basic kit for someone who buys it and doesn't really expect to expand it. One thing they did do was to move the kick up to input 8, so that you can just plug an extra pad directly into the KP65 to use the spare input no. 9, without having to reprogram all your kits. I think they were trying to hit a price point below Rolands and to concentrate on better sounds, which resulted in less features overall to achieve this. This in the long run maybe a good sign for the edrumming world, because next year someone will have to come out with lower and lower priced kits to catch the entry level crowds. As more and more folks purchase these kits as an alternate to acoustical kits, overall prices will eventually fall and features will increase. Right now there are simply not enough sales being generated for this to be a buyers market.
