Okay- I was able to assign channels to each pad and also set up a Channel Table in Cakewalk. So now when I play the DTX kit, pads 1-8 get recorded on tracks 1-8 respectively on the sequencer. Works great! AND I can playback the tracks through the DTX brain. BUT the notes sound like piano notes, different pitches corresponding to different pads. I assume that what's happening is that output from Cakewalk is playing through the DTX's GM bank, piano voice, different note values. So, I gotta change banks... I gather from reading previous posts that this is going to involve sending a Program Change from Cakewalk? (OR can it be done using DTX buttons?) The Cakewalk manual had a very brief refferance and sent me to the (DTXpress) MIDI Implementation Chart. So, now I've got both manuals opened to those pages and uhh, can't see what to do next. Can you give me some clues now about how to change banks? Thanks a lot, Hooper > To record the kit to different channels in Cakewalk > (or any MIDI sequencer), you first need to set the > channel for each pad from the Voice menu.
