Jerald, After spending a week or so looking for a monitor system for my kit (DTXpress III SE) and reading what people had to say on this site I decided to jack my kit into my Logitech z-5000d speaker system and had great results. I think the speakers can put out something like 400W RMS which is more than enough for me to blow the roof off my house during practice. I'm not sure what the output difference between the z-5500d and the z-2300 is but my plan now is to disconnect the brain from my kit and take it over to a friendly neighborhood computer system, jack it into a demo z-2300 unit, and have the brain play one of the built in songs to get a feel for whether that speaker system will be good enough for live gigs. The z-5500d system is great for practice but it has 5 smaller speakers for 5.1 surround sound which means that it's not very practical for live gigs. If you get a chance, call up one of your local computer shops and see if they'll let you try the brain experiment before you purchase the z-2300 system. Let me know how it works out. If you decide against using a computer speaker system I'd suggest going with a powered mixer and speakers instead of just an amp. A powered mixer and speakers won't cost you that much and the mixer will have an equalizer that will help you get around distortion problems. .Steve _____ From: DTXpress@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DTXpress@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Jerald Henderson Sent: June 4, 2005 2:18 PM To: DTXpress@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [DTXpress] Re: DTXpress III Monitor System? Keith, Do you think the Z-2300 would work in a very small auditorium that seats about 50 - 75 people ?
