Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi All,

I'm thinking of upgrading my single zone TP65 snare to a pintech
Concertcast 10 inch dual zone.  

From what I have read on this site and elsewhere, the rim half of the
snare input on the dtxpress expects a switch but the Concertcast has a
piezo. Therefore I would either need to connect the rim to input 9 or.....

I could build the dtxpander circuit from the files section and
incoporate some 200ohm pots to attenuate each of the piezo signals. 
Does this sound like something that would work?  Has anyone
succesfully built the dtxpander circuit?
