Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi everyone,

I just got a DTXpress 3 days ago. I set everything up and everything
works except for the hi-hat controller. There is no response from it
and the hi-hat remains the same whether the pedal stepped on or not.
After playing with it for a while, I found that when the hi-hat
controller is plugged into the , the hi-hat is closed, but when the
controller is not plugged in, the hi-hat is open. I'm not entirely
sure what's going it with it as this is my first electric drum set.
Can anyone offer any suggestions or help?
