That doesn't look like the right y adapter. You need a 1/4 inch male stereo to 1/4 female mono y adapter. I use a Hosa 9.9 foot STP203 stereo 1/4 male to mono 1/4 males. I would prefer the smaller male to female setup but its all that the local music shop had at the time and it works great but its just a little long.
