Hi, I use Cubase VST 32 & also the DTXpress I & II modules. I'm learning midi myself. Like said, someone told me the other day that you need both (two) midi cables connected at the same time...Which surprised me because I 'thought' I was able to run my edrums OR my keyboard into Cubase via midi and hear something...? Maybe not...? But Hell, GO, and buy another midi cable & do it anyway ;) I've also use a To Host cable with my DTXpress with the Yamaha CBX driver...With the To Host cable, only one cable is needed for to transmit midi in/out! As for Cubase, do you see on the Transport Bar?...to the right are little meters that show if you're transmitting and receiving midi signals. Also in Cubase, in your Arrange Window...You'll see the midi tracks..The track that you're using for midi - which btw should already be set up, by putting your L/R ruler locators where you want, then within those locators double left click? so that a blank bar will be in that midi track (neccessary to record midi on that track). THEN, also in Cubase, do you have (just to the right of/within the left column) you'll see a selection...Macro, You sound card will also be listed there....and then whatever VSTi instrument you're pre- selected in your VST instrument window will also be listed in that Arrange Windows column...SELECT what VST drum instrument you want, such as the LM-4, LM-9, Broove Agent, A drum sampler such as FXpansions DR-008, etc, etc, etc....SELECT...As long as you have a low latency audio card, you should be able to play in Real Time and hear the drums.. Hope that sheds some light? Either that or I've been talking out of my rectum again! :/ Oh, and if you need specific Cubase help, you DO know of ...? http://forum.cubase.net/phpbb2/index.php? sid=e388b3560d38c0ec72e88f7812048511 Steve (ZapAxe) --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, g g <gnutus1@y...> wrote: > > Im no expert but every midi set up up ive used has 2 midi cabeles 1 going from your card to your instrument and another cable from the instrument to your card .... hope that helps ...........and sry I wasnt more help > > ruffalo2003 <ruffalo2003@y...> wrote:Hey you guys and dolls, > > I recently bought a midi cable, connected it to my soundblaster 5.1 > and my dtxpress 2 and..... > nothing. > > I cant't seem to get any sound out of my pc.
