Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hey all,

greetings from Germany to all the members of this group. As a horn
player who used to bang on other peoples acustic drumsets whenever
possible, I finally took the plunge and bought my own dtxpress III
set. I am now trying to make my own kits, getting
more and more confused with the x-fade setting. From my general
understanding, it should influence the volume of two different voices
that are layered on a single pad/zone. However, you can change this
setting even if there's only one voice assigned to the pad. So, could
it be, that the x-fade setting just influences velocity crossfading
between the two samples a voice consists of and not between two
different layered voices?
