RE: Spam:[DTXpress] Assigning ride cymbal to a pad

2006-04-17 by Damon, Rob

I am assuming you have the DTxpress III or IIISP kit. Once you start
assigning different voices to drum/cymbal pads, you will need to start
using "USER Kits" as oppose to the built-in kits in order for changes to
be saved. Since you are not physically changing which input the pads are
plugged into or physically changing existing or adding new pads, the
only thing you have to do is change the voice assigned to the pad.

If you look on page 16 of the Drum Trigger Manual, you will see brief
description of how to change voices and save it to a User kit. Press
"VOICE" button, tap on the pad you want to change and the screen should
indicate the pad you have struck. Now you the <Page up/dn, Sel, Value>
buttons to navigate to the second line, first letter. Since you want to
change the pad voice to a ride cymbal voice, scroll through until you
see "=C/001" ( the number maybe different, but the "C" is for cymbal
sounds.) Now scroll to the number and select the number that corresponds
to the particular ride cymbal you want to use. Then save it to a user
kit. If the pad is a mono zone pad, that's all you have to do. If it is
a stereo/two zone pad with a rim switch, then you could assign the a
voice to the rim, which could be the "edge" sound of the ride cymbal you
selected or "crash" cymbal voice. You are limited to want you assign to
each zone.

You would follow the same method for reassigning the voice on the ride
cymbal pad to a crash cymbal voice.

Subject: Spam:[DTXpress] Assigning ride cymbal to a pad

Hi,

First post here. I've not had my kit for too long and now want to
assign one of the pads to a ride cymbal and the ride to another crash.
I've searced through the messages on this board but am having trouble
finding the correct set of commands.
I'm sure this question must have been asked before, can anyone point
me in the right direction?

Thanks

Paul
