Don't feel bad, I put up with it through the entire run of a show.
When I went to buy a new trigger, (only after spending hours tweaking the trigger settings,) I casually mentioned the problem to a sales rep at the store and that's when I was enlightened.

Troubleshooting 101: Is it plugged in? Is it turned on? Is it a good lead? duh...

Thanks Joe! Yep, you're right - it was the lead. Stupid of me not to try it before posting...Thanks again----- Original Message -----From: joe ribaSent: Friday, May 19, 2006 4:41 AMSubject: Re: [DTXpress] Hi - got a probI was having a different but equally weird problem with my kick trigger. It turned out to be the lead. If you haven't already swapped it out, try it. You never know...Hi All,
I live in the UK and have had a DTXpress III for about 18 months -
just home use for fun. Never had a problem until now and it's a weird
one:
My hihat registers closed or open - foot on the pedal and hit pad =
closed sound; hit pad with no foot on pedal and open cymbal sound. But
when I try to use the hihat pedal on its own, I get no sound at all.
Well, that's not entirely true: if I depress the pedal lightly, I get
the faintest of sounds, but then nothing more on successive beats.
I tried a factory reset, but no change. The rest of the pads are
working fine. Help! Any ideas?
Thanks for any advice.
Malc
