Re: Replacement part?

2006-06-20 by geerayman

I just got a DTXpress III the other day (for Father's Day --
woohoo!!!) I took one of my old Tama A-frame keyboard stands (circa
1985) out from storage and the hardware fits perfectly. Which means
that any Ultimate Support System parts will fit, as well, since the
Tama was made with the same 1.5" tubing that USS uses/used.

Back in the day, I had two A-frame stands joined together in an "L" by
some of those now hard-to-find adjustable joints. I ended up cutting
a 6" piece of tube, cut down a single support arm to about 5" and used
a Tama T-fitting to add a satellite speaker to the left side of the
stand (I have my module on the right side).

If you an pick up an old USS A-frame stand in the Recycler, you can
probably get a mess of parts to upgrade your rig with, if you don't
mind mis-matched colors.

Just like Tinkertoys!!!
