hihat again......

2006-09-26 by dronsb

Hi folks,

Ive played around with my new set nof for a couple of days- only the
hihat is still p...... me off! I cannot understand why Yamaha has
released such an unsatisfying product! Theres almost no continuity in
the pedal, I might as well use a switch! This in relation to how good
the rest of the kit is makes it even worse!
I`ve just talked to a guy at drumtec (my german dealer) and he`s told
me that the RHH130 controler itself has 7 resistors inside (instead of
the normal Yamaha hh-controler that have only 3) which should at least
give the drummer a sufficient sensibility for playing a slightly
opened HH? So wheres the problem? Yamaha claims that the DTXpress3
has a continuous HH- looks like the brain is not understanding what
the controler is telling him- or am I wrong in this?
The guy at drumtec told me that it`s also the same sh.. with the
DTXtreme, so no solution in getting that brain either.
Couldn`t this be solved with a sort of electronic interface? Some
device that translates the input from the RHH130 controler to the
DTXpress brain? Id really like to hear comments from the electronic
technicians in here!
Thanks already in advance,
Wolfgang
