Re: hihat again......

2006-09-28 by dronsb

First thing: Many thanx to all of you who have contributed to this thread!
So obviously I`m not the only one who has complained about this
matter. Right now I`m not quite sure what to do? My special kit is
brand new out of the box and it`s always hard to believe that some
part of it won`t work properly right from the start on. But now I`ve
learned that this has been the case with other kits.
I`m an electronic technician ( or at least that was the profession
I`ve learned 20 years ago...lol) so I could take the hihat apart and
check wether theres something bad or not- but I`d void my guarantee
if I`d do so! So maybe it`ll be just smarter to try out another RHH130
and see wether it`s different from my unit or not?
What I did today was to turn the little output pot on the back of the
RHH130 to 12 o`clock position- this made it a little bit better, but
I`m still far from being able to play slightly open hh sounds if I
want to. Right now when I release the pressure of my left foot
sometimes the right sound will appear- but I better do not breathe no
more and freeze any moves of the lower parts of my body just to keep
it for a little while- not the easiest exercise......

Tomorrow I`ll call my dealer and see if he`ll be willing to send me
another RHH130 to crosscheck it- I`ll keep you informed on my progress
(if there is any)!

CU all,
Wolfgang
