Keith,

It is kind interesting. I plugged the VH-12 into the Dtxtreme IIS module
and you only get a closed hi-hat sound. I made up an open patch cord
with a TRS jack on each end, with spade connectors on the ends of the
3-conductor wire so I could switch out the conductor arrangements
Gnd-Gnd, Ring-Tip, Tip-Ring and various arrangements and none would
work. I then (accidentally) had my hand touching two of the terminals of
the TRS jack, thus creating a high resistance path between the two
Tip-Ring (I think??, it was 2 am when I was doing it the other night, so
things are fuzzy) and the hi-hat seemed to work, giving you and open and
closed sound. When I put a jumper (low resistance path) between the
terminals it stopped working again. Looks like a resistor of some type
maybe needed. I thought someone a VDRUMS and come up with possible
solution. Would need to do some searching of the VDRUMS site to find it.

I haven't opened the VH-12 up to look at the insides yet (I am slammed
busy at work, but will try and do it in the coming weeks) to see how the
two stereo cables tie into the two output jacks on the VH-12. So there
has to be something simple to make it work.

I did unplugged the TD-20 module from the TD-20 kit pads and setup a
Dtxtreme IIS module in it's place, plugged all the Roland pads into the
Yamaha module and even with using the RHH pad type, the Yamaha module
doesn't like the dual peizo pads (PD125/PD105). Hitting the rim triggers
the main pad with no real consistency. I think with some tweaking and
using them as single zone pads could work.

Hmmm, I reckon I could get it to work!

Keith.
