Rim Sensitivity

2006-10-28 by Flynn

Hello,

I wrote some days ago that I can't get any rim sounds from the TP65S
on my DTXpress II.
After a short time after a wrote this message, I could get the rim
sounds of Snar2, the rimshot sound, from it, after I pressed down the
rims with my fingers and hit the rim relatively hard. After that, I
could get rim sounds even with weaker hits, BUT only for a short time.
I'm confused, the Snar2 rim-switch seems to work after hitting it very
hard (from time to time at least), but I still couldn't get any sounds
for the Snar1 Rim-Switch.

What do you think is the reason for this? Should I open the snare to
see if the rim-switches loosened? Should I replace the snarepad?

Are there any options left which could clear the situation?

I looked into the manual, but I couldn't find anything how to increase
the sensitivity of the rims.

Do you have any idea?

Thanks a lot,
Flynn
