Tom,

Inputs 9/10 are intended for two separate pads, each with their own
piezo. The dual zone pads use a single piezo and rim switch to get
two sounds, not two piezos. By connecting a dual zone pad to 9/10 you
are connecting a piezo to one input and a switch to the other. As you
have found out, it will not work.

If you want the two zone sounds from your TP80S, just about any other
input will do. You will have to swap it with a single zone pad, e.g.
one of the toms and put the tom on 9/10.

Keith.
