Often the current taken to hold up the memory by a backup battery is no more than the self discharge of the battery itself, although the discharge will always be slower while the power is on. Temperature makes a huge difference to leakage currents, so a module kept in a hot climate will discharge quicker. Maybe it's time to backup my kits! Keith.
