Recording to PC

2007-10-06 by diontrisnadi

Hello,

I have been trying to record from my dtxpress III set. Unfortunately,
I've been facing a bit of problem.

The sound that I get in my computer is not very good. The hi-hats and
cymbals are too loud, while my bass drum kicks get distorted. I am
recording through the headphone out/ left and right channels at the
back of the brain. Both ways produced the same result.

I use audacity to record with the minimum gain. It helps a bit for
the cymbals and I also tried to hit the cymbals a little softer.
However, the bass drum kicks still gets distorted.

I turned the volume knob in my dtxpress III brain into the most
comfortable volume as I listen through my headphone. The bass drum
kick will only not get distorted when I play down the volume so low,
that I can't feel the "punch" from the kick drum.

Is there any way I can record so that I can get a good sound? Without
having to lose the "feel" from the kick drum that is. Thanks :D
