Rim Problems

2007-11-07 by Flynn

Hi there,

I have a DTXpress II and there are some problems with the rim zones
from the TP65S snare. I can't play the rim sounds when I want, this
happens very involuntarily. In most cases, I only hear the normal pad
sound when I hit the rim zones, but sometimes when I play straight on,
it happens that there is a rimshot to hear. But when I heard it, I can
play it easily about 5 times. After that, the rim is unplayable again.
The same on other inputs.
I'm very confused. Is it necessary to hit an accurate angle, e.g. rim
and pad the same time or should it work when I just hit the rim?

I checked the settings on the module and everything seems to be just
fine. The rim ounds are set up properly, stereo cable used.

I don't know if it's a module or a pad problem, but I think it's the
second. Do you recommend doing a factory reset? How can I save my
entire settings via MIDI as dump?

Should I try to open the snare pad and check the cables or should I
just replace the entire pad?

Thanks for your help,
best regards,
Flynn
