Re: Rim Problems

2007-11-07 by Flynn

Thanks, Keith for your fast answer.

I already swapped the cable and used it with the HiHat controller and
it works just fine and also tried other inputs and it's the same
problem, also with the preset trigger setups (TP65S on input).

I also think that it is a pad problem. When I insert the plug into the
pad only half way, I can play the rim sounds just fine with the normal
pad surface (not the rims though). The question is now if the socket
is only canted inside or if the rim switch is really broken.

I opened the pad a little bit but didn't open it completely (I worry
that I can damage the pad completely or rip something off beacuse I
can't afford a new one at that time). Both rim switches look ok, but
pressing on them with the finger and hitting the pad surface doesn't
make anything better. Another option of course would be the cable from
the rim switch to the circuit, perhaps a hairline crack in general?
