RE: [DTXpress] Using PC Speakers on a 1st Gen DTXpress

2009-05-12 by John Warner

Hi,

I haven\u2019t tried Logitech speakers with my drum kit, I have to be honest I use a practice amp for personal practise. However you do need to be careful not to turn up the volume too much as the bass drum, in particular, COULD blow the speaker cones. Hope that\u2019s helpful...

Kind regards,

For the last few years I have used an old bass amp (hey, I am on a low budget!) for my DTXPress kit. Poor sound, but it got me by for practicing.

I read about connecting up PC Speakers and heard that they would sound rubbish. So for a laugh, I connected up my Logitech X-230 PC Speakers (twin speakers + sub) at a cost of £32. I was literally blown away with the quality! No distortion, crystal clear. Not terribly loud, but way loud enough for my practicing.

So I thought about spending another £32 and getting another set from Amazon. Before I do, has anyone else tried any other PC speakers for the £50 mark which do the job even nicer than my Logitechs ?

Thanks.
