Assuming you try these settings and still cannot get it to work with the connectors either way round I would start to suspect the computer/drivers/cable. When I searched online, everyone having trouble with this cable said they would get a it to say (device not functioning properly) under device management. Mine say's it's working properly, but regardless, I tried two other drivers that was supposed to fix the problem, but still with no luck. I also tried my other computer which has XP rather than Vista. Same problems. I don't have time to check now, but those settings look like what I have... I'll double check tonight. I used the midi monitoring program with no luck as well... Maybe I'll try to find something else that could have midi capabilities.
