But have you had any other midi devices working on your computer before now?
I wonder if you've managed to reach the windows xp limit of 10 in the registry (assuming you're using windows xp - or some later version, which I think is still affected)
What you have to do is go into the registry and clear out duplicate/old entries. I can provide a link to a document that explains how to do this (not my document) - but if it's not likely to be that..... then I'm not sure.

I can only guess, but you could have a driver problem, or some other settings on the computer. I wonder if anyone else has any ideas about what you could check?
