Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

ok, so my DTXpress sounds great, but I can't seem to get the sensitivity setting to where they will pick up all of my ghost notes and light rolles on the toms or sprinkle on the ride. Any ideas? I am using roland pd-7 pads, but that shouldn't make a difference should it?
