Hi Will, The DTXpress has 8 stereo inputs (numbers 1 - 8), and one dual input (numbered 9/10). The stereo inputs, when triggered by either Yamaha stereo pads (TP80S, PCY80S) or others (like Pintech as an example)give you the ability to produce two sounds per pad. With a TP80S, for example, you could have a sound associated with the pad rim (a cowbell) and one associated with the pad (a tom) using 1 of the stereo inputs on the DTXpress. Input 9/10 is really two mono trigger inputs. An example of how you could use this as you upgrade components, is to take two of your present TP60 or PCY60 pads, connect them to a stereo splitter (a connector that connects two mono inputs to the left and right sides of a stereo signal. Each would have its own sound, 1 would be input 9, the other input 10. (I can't remember if 9 is the left or right channel) Does this make sense? Now, on to cymbal stands. As you have observed, cymbals do not usually come with stands, unless you stumble someone that's selling them together. They can, however, be found in all the same places that you can buy cymbals from. Most of them are (in simple terms) the upper part of accoustioc cymbal stands, which clamp to your rack with this wonderful little device called a Multi clamp. There are a lot of choices for pads and cymbals, and you have a limited number of inputs. Choose wisely Grasshopper, or you will be looking for a second trigger module and more rack pipes, and more clamps, only to find you have more room, so you're back to buying more pads, and more rack pipes...
